On March 5, 2013, Wing Commander: New Horizon MUSH was shut down due to lack of activity. Thanks to the staff and players for your support. We had a good run and created some amazing memories. Keep in touch on the Facebook page for the game, which will be preserved.
The entire game's codebase and database (minus player information) has been open-sourced and released to the public, and the game itself is back up to help support the code at wcmush.com 2199!
"Good evening viewers, this is Christina Christianson. ESNN is liven New Zurich at the press conference organized by officials within the Kilrathi Commonwealth who, up until now, has remained silent on the situation at Inferno."
The camera turns from the reporter towards the podium at the centre of the stage which bears the Commonwealth logo. Within seconds, a tall Kilrathi wearing bright, colourful diplomatic garbs walks makes its way to the podium.
"We are told that the Kilrathi speaking at this press conference is K'Thrika nar Hhallas, a newly arrived diplomat here in New Zurich," indicates a voice off screen. The text at the bottom of the screen is quickly altered to reflect the new information.
"As a member of the Kilrathi Diplomatic Corps deployed here on New Zurich, and in the name of the Kilrathi Commonwealth, I wish to assure the Terran populace of the Enigma Sector that we are overwhelmingly concerned with the situation on Pembroke A I. The Commonwealth is collaborating fully with the Enigma Sector Consortium in an attempt to find a solution to the unfortunate turn of events regarding the salvaging of the Kamekh cruiser and the Temblor bomb.
"In a token of good faith, I have received word that the Commonwealth will be expediting transport ships to help with the evacuation. We remain confident, however, that the combined efforts of the ESC and the KC will bear fruit and keep the populace of Pembroke safe and secure."
"The Commonwealth is committed to cultivating a relationship based on trust, friendship, free markets, understanding and honor between the Terrans and the Kilrathi. Unfortunately, pressing matters make it impossible for me to take any questions at the moment. Our thoughts are with the people of Pembroke."
The red-clad Kilrathi quickly moves back stage despite a scrum of journalists yelling questions towards him, some accusing the Commonwealth of plotting against the Terrans, while others simply wanting more information as to why the Commonwealth is getting involved in the situation.
"There you have it everyone. The Kilrathi Commonwealth pledges support to those in Inferno. Coming up: your 7 day weather forecast and why you should check your ships' air filter every 30 million clicks. This is Christina Christianson for ESNN news, New Zurich."
