Inferno Evacuation

"Doug Ardsox here with breaking news from the Pembroke System. Consortium officials are confirming the presence of a Temblor bomb on Pembroke A I, better known as Inferno. Viewers were stunned during last night's ESNN nightly news broadcast when the reactivation of a decades-old Kilrathi corvette resulted in the countdown initiation of a bomb that has apparently been hidden on Inferno since the end of the war. The broadcast was cut short by an unfortunate and completely accidental signal interruption, but not before the existence of the bomb was revealed to millions of viewers throughout the sector. We go live now to the main space port on Inferno with Roldy Coopow."

The camera cuts to an image of a middle-aged reporter standing in the Inferno space port. In the background, a mob of people are lined up in front of several shuttles. "Roldy Coopow here, reporting live from the surface of Inferno as hundreds of thousands of workers and residents attempt to evacuate. It's total chaos here, Doug. There simply aren't enough shuttles to evacuate everyone. There are no ESC personnel anywhere to be found, and I'm receiving reports that the last corporate ships lifted off several hours ago. The mood is getting increasingly tense, and-" Someone suddenly jumps in front of Roldy and grabs the camera. "HELP US, PLEASE! THEY'RE LEAVING US TO DIE HERE! OH GOD, WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" Screams fill the air. There's a commotion somewhere off-camera. Suddenly, the image is replaced by the ESNN news desk and anchorman Doug Ardsox. "Ahem. We seem to have lost the signal. We'll work on getting back with Roldy. In the meantime, here's a word from our sponsors..."
